Meet Our Counselors

Aimee Thompson, LPC-S, CCTP – Founder & Lead Counselor

As the owner and founder of Counseling for Hope, I bring years of experience and deep compassion to my counseling practice. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a qualified supervisor in Texas (License #73020). My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTP).

My Approach:
I know firsthand how painful life’s struggles can be—from seasons of intense physical pain to relationship challenges and parenting difficulties. My passion is to offer Christ-centered counseling that encourages growth, healing, and lasting transformation. Whether you’re facing trauma, anxiety, or major life transitions, I am here to help you take the next step toward hope.

Ruby Pappachen, MA, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, holding a Master’s in Social Work and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR therapy, a certified facilitator for Prepare/Enrich, and SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts).

My Approach:
We all experience pain, but your story is unique. If you feel overwhelmed by stress, grief, or identity struggles, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your emotions and find healing. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, I help clients make sense of their thoughts, behaviors, and past experiences while integrating faith in the healing process. Whether you’re an adult woman seeking healing or a couple preparing for marriage, I am here to support you.

Antoinette Griffin, MA, LPC-Associate

Antoinette Griffin, Masters Level Counseling Intern Supervised by Amy Doar, M.S., LPC-S

With over 30 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and veterans, I provide counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. My counseling approach is shaped by my 26-year military career, leadership roles, and personal experiences in marriage, divorce, and family life.

My Approach:
I believe that sometimes we all get “stuck” and need a trusted guide to help us move forward. In session, I use Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide customized support. Additionally, I am Gottman Method Level 1 Certified and a SYMBIS-certified facilitator for couples preparing for marriage. My mission is to help you break free from the patterns that hold you back and become the best version of yourself.
